地震被災者の方々へのご支援のお願い
現地時間の4月25日正午前、日本時間の午後3時すぎ、ネパール中部を震源とするマグニチュード7.9の地震がありました。
震源は首都カトマンズの北西80キロ付近とみられ、現地ではその後も余震とみられる地震が相次いでいます。
まずは、皆さまに私たちの無事をご報告します。
お寺は、本堂の壁と天井、それから敷地に至る通路の塀が壊れる被害がありました。
カトマンズ本願寺のメンバーは全員無事でした、しかしながらこの美しい町、ネパールの多くの人々が被った「死」と「破壊」を思うととても悲しくなります。
この地震は私たちの町の美しく貴重な歴史的建造物や自然を破壊しただけではなく、多くの死と絶望の風景を残しました。
ソナム師をはじめカトマンズ本願寺のメンバーは、今助けを必要とされている人や物に対して最善を尽くしています。彼らは敬意を持って支援活動に取り組んでいます。私たちは世界中の人々にこの悲惨なネパールの現状を知ってもらい心からの支援を願います。

Support for rehabilitation
This is to make you a kind information that we are safe and sound. The temple has sustained damage to our outer walls and the temple hall’s walls and ceiling. We are fortunate that we lost no lives at the Katmandu Hongwanji, however, as part of the Nepalese community we are sadden by the death and destruction that has come to our wonderful city. As this earthquake which has devastated our city has destroyed not only our precious monuments of history and beauty, it has left in it’s wake a landscape of death and despair. For us at the Katmandu Hongwanji, Rev. Sonam Wangdi Bhutia and the fellow members at our temple are doing their best to help those in need right now. As they are volunteering their time and resources, and with reverence and respect to all who would like to help, we hope for the world to respond to Nepal’s dire needs with heartfelt aid to save our community.
Please help Nepal and the Katmandu community in our time of suffering. The Katmandu Hongwanji is sponsoring this fundraiser with the hope of restoring Katmandu and surrounding areas as they were before the earthquake. The funds raised will be used to help all without regards to religion or ethnicity, since we are all part of the world community and feel strongly that we must help each other in times of need. As such, the total proceeds for this fundraiser will be used for the benefit of all the areas effected by the earthquake. Please be assured that all the funds for the restoration of the effected areas in Nepal, will be used only for those purposes.
